By signature below, I understand and will follow the Texas Administrative code of ethics: 

“The Texas educator shall comply with standard practices and ethical conduct toward students, professional colleagues, school officials, parents, and members of the community and shall safeguard academic freedom. The Texas educator, in maintaining the dignity of the profession, shall respect and obey the law, demonstrate personal integrity, and exemplify honesty and good moral character. The Texas educator, in exemplifying ethical relations with colleagues, shall extend just and equitable treatment to all members of the profession. The Texas educator, in accepting a position of public trust, shall measure success by the progress of each student toward realization of his or her potential as an effective citizen. The Texas educator, in fulfilling responsibilities in the community, shall cooperate with parents and others to improve the public schools of the community. This chapter shall apply to educators and candidates for certification.”

College of Education Dispositions

The College of Education Dispositions will be reviewed and discussed during MUSI 2112.  After viewing the PowerPoint, you will need to sign a College of Education Dispositions page (See Dr. Lange).  

Mental Health/Substance Abuse Summary Reports

Mental Health link:

  1. Navigate to: https://www.nimh.nih.gov/health/topics/index.shtml

  2. Read the information about the five following disorders: anxiety, depression, eating disorders, ADHD, and autism.

  3. Write a description or definition for each of the disorders and a few key points highlighting the knowledge you have gained about each disorder. 

  4. Give finished report to Dr. Lange.

  5. Upload the finished report to Your Tk20 portfolio.

 

Substance Abuse link:

  1. Navigate to: https://www.nimh.nih.gov/health/topics/substance-use-and-mental-health/index.shtml

  2. Read the information about alcohol, drug, and tobacco addiction.

  3. Write a few key points highlighting the knowledge you have received from this information.

  4. Give finished report to Dr. Lange

  5. Upload the finished report to Your Tk20 portfolio.

Dyslexia Training

Please use the instructions below to complete this training module:

  1. Navigate to https://register.tealearn.com/.

  2. Type in ‘dyslexia’ in the search bar.

  3. Select the course, TEA Dyslexia and select ‘Enroll.’

  4. Enter fields for first, middle (optional), and last name

  5. Enter and verify email address

  6. For TEA Uniq-ID, select ‘I don’t have one’

  7. For District/Charter, select ‘I don’t have one’

  8. For Current Assignment/Role, select ‘Certification Program Candidate’

  9. Finally, select ‘Enroll in course’

    • NOTE: Before you can access the course, you will need to ‘finish the registration process’ (i.e., set up a new account with a password), which will be sent to you via the email address you entered and verified at the time of registration. After setting up your TEALearn account, you will ‘Access Your Dashboard’ to ‘Begin Course.’

 

Upload the certificate into Tk20 and give a copy to Dr. Lange.

Youth Suicide Prevention

  1. Navigate to: http://sptsuniversity.org

  2. Click "Create a New Account" and go through the account creation process.

  3. Choose the National Version-Making Educators Partners in Youth Suicide Prevention: ACT on FACTS

  4. Complete the entire training including optional modules.

  5. Print certificate and give a copy to Dr. Lange.

  6. Upload the certificate into Tk20.

Texas Behavior Support Initiative (TBSI) Training

  1. Navigate to: https://tier.tea.texas.gov/TBSI

  2. Click the Texas Behavioral Support Initiative button, then click the course icon, and then the enroll button. Proceed through the account creation/registration process.

  3. Complete the training module (estimated time to completion is 2.5 hours).

  4. Complete the survey.

  5. Download and print the certificate - give a copy to Dr. Lange

  6. Upload the certificate into Tk20.

Tk20

Tk20 is a comprehensive data management system for the College of Education.  You will need to purchase an individual Tk20 account for a one-time only, non-refundable cost of $139 (plus taxes and fees). 

 

The account is good for seven years after the purchase date and may be renewed at your option. You may purchase your subscription online from the following link:
